Kalindinai is one of the strongest mages in the Realms. Her battle magicks can (and have) ended wars. She has the "wilder" ability with magic that allows her to use empowered spells and resist backlash that would kill even elder arch-mages.
Tournament Rank:
Kalindinai is frequent spectator at the All Worlds Tournament, while trained in the sword and bow, they are feeble compared to her battle magics that can wipe entire battlefields clear of life.
Information:
Queen Kalindinai T'Evagduran is a central figure in the Ring Realms, renowned for her immense magical prowess, strong leadership, and deep dedication to her family and kingdom. She is often referred to by the Elvish honorific Matradomma, meaning "mother of mothers".
Kalindinai is married to King Jhaann T'Evagduran, having been married for 999 summers after ascending to the throne. Their relationship is depicted with mutual respect, though Kalindinai often guides the King in political and strategic matters.
She has three daughters: Ryelle (the 1st Princess), Janai (the 2nd Princess), and Sarai (the 3rd Princess). She also has a granddaughter, Vhina Drielle T'Evagduran, through Sarai.
Her elder brother is Bertrand Kirnath Valharesh, with whom she has a contentious relationship due to his hatred of humans and traditionalist views. She views his actions as a betrayal and is willing to order his death.
The entire T'Evagduran family has been inducted into the Shael Dal to combat the Baronian/Daergon incursion, making them valued contributors to the Protectorate. Kalindinai maintains strong relationships with:
- Cassandra Kel'Ishtauri Felspar: Who provides medical assistance to Sarai and is associated with the Kel'Ishtauri Academy in Malan.
- Marna Solaris: A Vatraena who works with the T'Evagdurans.
- Idun Yggdrasil: A powerful pantheon lord and grandmother to Wren Kergatha. Kalindinai shares a close bond and collaborates with Idun.
- Liandra "Wren" Kergatha: Her granddaughter's friend and a powerful ascendant savant whom Kalindinai greatly respects, despite official political stances.
- Bannor Starfist: Sarai's partner and a human savant. Kalindinai initially maintains a stern front due to Malanian prejudices but shows deep affection and trust for him, especially after he helps her family.
Theln Azygos: Kalindinai was Theln's apprentice two millennia ago and Theln serves as the magic master for the Valharesh descendants. Kalindinai was surprised to learn Theln was Kriar.
Wilder Mage and Warmage: Kalindinai is a wilder mage, possessing extraordinarily strong magical and mental abilities. Her skills are equivalent to an arch-magi, and the power of her magic is significantly greater. She is a devastating warmage capable of destroying entire legions. Her participation in Malan's border skirmishes often leads to quick resolutions.
Shaladen Wielder: She wields a shaladen, which she can transform into a battlestaff, demonstrating its immense power.
Despite her powerful magic, Kalindinai is a skilled diplomat who often conducts negotiations for Malan. She is thoughtful and involved in strategic planning for Malan's defense, especially against the Baronian threat.
Knowledgeable in G'yaki Tradition: She understands G'yaki laws and honor, which she uses to reinstate clan teaching dous for Su'ko Hoshihana, correcting past injustices.
Healer (via Shaladen): She can perform purification rites and knows a cure for the gray death, which affects Bannor. She also instructs Cassandra to show her healing procedures for Sarai.
Protective Matriarch: Her primary concern is the protection of her family and the citizens of Malan. She views human allies as part of her family, even if it goes against traditional Elven prejudices.

Occupation:
Future queen of Malan
Birthplace:

Martial Status:
Unmarried
Known Relatives:

Group Affiliations:
Kingdom of Malan, Malanian Royal Family, Protectorate
Magical Skills:
Ryelle is a trained mage capable of high order magics. She is not as good as her naturally talented "wilder mage" mother Kalindinai who is renowed through the realms as a fierce battle caster able to wipe small armies off the battlefield with a single spell.
Tournament Rank:
Ryelle having a delicate build is simply too fragile for even play fighting. She is trained in self-defense and can wield bow and sword with competence. In the events of Reality's Plaything: Infinity Annihilator she takes up the honorary Shaladen Lexaron. She and the advocate Eternal resonate with unusual strength, and the pretty and petite Queen Regent becomes supercharged with strength and confidence. During the events of Savant's Blood: Gaea's Blood she surprises everyone with formidable hand-to-hand combat skills that she attributes to learning from Senalloy. Liandra Kergatha attributed this to Ryelle having drank too much "paladin juice". As a field operative in the Protectorate, Ryelle ranks in the sixth circle unlimited class (the minimum for Protectorate field operations).
Information:
Ryelle is the first daughter of King Jhaann and Queen Kalindinai T'Evagduran of Malan. She is the eldest of three sisters, the others being Janai and Sarai. She is approximately 998 summers old.
Initially described as the "steady daughter" who always got along with both her parents. She is noted for being good at keeping her sisters under control when needed and helping them get out of trouble. Her younger sister Janai believes Ryelle scares away potential husbands by talking about duty and loyalty to the realm's affairs. Ryelle prefers structured, productive discourse and pursuing matters when there is sufficient information and officially sanctioned leave to investigate.
Ryelle has a great deal of respect for her mother, Queen Kalindinai, and follows her instructions. She shows appreciation and love for her sister Janai and her brother-in-law Bannor, recognizing their value and contributions. She seems to have a formal or respectful relationship with Lord Valharesh, whom she refers to as "uncle". Liandra (Wren) trusts Ryelle to keep Kirran from doing anything risky. It is also mentioned that Ryelle introduced Senalloy to "Quetzal laced dark root," suggesting a relationship where they shared "marvelous vices".
Ryelle later becomes an avatar of the Advocate Eternal. This transformation significantly increases her strength and ignites her passion against evil and wrongdoing. The previously "passive Ryelle" who relied on diplomacy is gone, replaced by a diplomatic but resilient figure whose pursuit of truth causes unrest. She is also noted as having changed the most among her sisters who received shaladens. She embraces the role of Queen Regent of Malan with the intent to clean up insurgent elements.

When she becomes pregnant with Vhina, the god-like energies of the baby also affect her. She undergoes cybermed enhancement to bring the powerful child to term.
Known Relatives:
Bannor Starfist (husband), Kalindinai T'Evagduran (mother), Jhaann T'Evagduran (father), Ryelle T'Evagduran (eldest sister), Janai T'Evagduran (older sister), Bertrand Valharesh (uncle)
Group Affiliations:
Kingdom of Malan, Malanian Royal Family, Protectorate
Magical Skills:
Sarai is a trained magic user with some basic skills in magic. She is a fourth tier practitioner. Her skills are rudamentary compared to her mother and older sisters.
Tournament Rank:
Sarai is a trained combat officer of the Malanian military. She is highly proficient with bow and sword. She has never fought in the All-worlds but if she were to compete she would easily place high in the 6th circle standard class of fighters.
Information:
Sarai is Kalindinai's youngest daughter and is 473 summers old. Sarai idolizes her father and was the only daughter to join the Malanian military. Disguising her identity, she entered the ranks as a common recruit and earned her way to high Praelor of the hippogriff elite before it was discovered she was in fact the crown princess. Because of this, she is well regarded and respected amongst the officers and regulars of the Malanian forces. She is skilled in the sword and bow, and served in three cavalry campaigns. She has some minor skills in magic. Sarai is the most independent of the daughters, and very direct in her manner. It is this directness that causes her to clash with her father who feels a need to reign in his willful daughter. Shortly after her enforced engagement to Duke Myrgul Tradeholme, Sarai slipped out of Malan. She later found Bannor Starfist in borderlands and fell in love with him.
During the events of Reality's Plaything, Hecate attempts to take over Sarai's body. Intervention by immortals brought Sarai back, but into the body of Meliandri D'Casar, a handmaiden to her mother. In this form, Sarai had dark hair, dusky skin, and amber eyes, a stark contrast to her natural pale, violet-eyed, silver-haired elven form. She expressed significant pain and distress over being in the wrong body.
With Idun's help, Sarai consumed parts of the golden apple, causing dramatic and painful physical transfiguration. This process allowed her to return to her original, taller, slender elven form with silver hair and gleaming violet eyes. She noted that her form now had physical acclimations for pregnancy and childbirth, including having "more hips". She also discovered that touching a flux stone allowed her to "see," "feel," and "sense," making her feel truly "alive".
After her return to Malan, Sarai was confronted by her father, King T'Evagduran, and defied him. With the help of her sister Janai, the situation was somewhat defused, and she was exonerated. She participated in her first audience with her father. She acknowledged running out of Malan but asserted she was changed and could serve the kingdom in new ways with Bannor's talents. She questioned her father about whether her inheriting her mother's "wilder blood" made her unworthy of the throne, asserting her own claim through earning her title via military service. Despite clashes, she believed she would always follow her mother's lead. Bannor observed that she and Janai took after their manipulative mother, and Sarai had hidden her controlling, royal side until confronted with her identity.
Sarai became comfortable with changing her shape. She adopted forms like Arabella and Adwena, a Valkyrie, particularly to maintain her pregnancy. Through a form regression process performed by Wysteri, she returned to her original elven form. She stated she has been an elf, an elemental, an immort, a first one, and a valkyrie. She is revealed to be a Shael Dal, having been entrusted with a shaladen. As a Shael Dal wielder of a shaladen, she possesses significant power, drawing on its effectively infinite energy. Her combat prowess was noted, being able to move incredibly fast. She is also the wielder of Xersis, a powerful shapeshifting weapon/being.
Sarai became pregnant. Her pregnancy required specific physical forms and acclimations. She gave birth to a daughter. Her daughter is a half-blood but is in line for the throne, which causes unrest. Her child is also prophesied to mark the undoing of the pantheons. Sarai is protective of her daughter, stating she will not let her become a monster. Sarai is noted to share parenting duties with Bannor, particularly holding the child when she fusses. She is also called "Mother-to-be" and addresses Bannor's father as "Father-to-be". She states she will be a bride, a wife, and a mother.
Sarai continues her relationship with Bannor, referring to him as "my One" and her husband. She has a complex relationship with her sisters, particularly Janai, who she finds annoying but also loves. She interacts with other significant characters like Wren (with whom she initially clashed but later apologized to), Daena (challenging her self-worth and relationship with Bannor), Idun, and Senalloy (who notes many people track Sarai's movements). She participates in major conflicts and events alongside Bannor and others. She continues to struggle with balancing her identity as a royal princess, a warrior, a savant/Shael Dal, and now a wife and mother.

Targallae, Ess |
Inspired by:
Will Greenway
Appears in:
Shaladen Chronicles: A Knot in Time, Savant's Blood: Shadow of the Avatar, Savant's Blood: Hecate's Bounty, Shaladen Chronicles: Anvil of Sorrow, Shaladen Chronicles: Who Mourns the Creator
Occupation:
Professional Adventurer
Birthplace:
Mirakul Breeding Colony, Purple Plains
Unusual Features:
Ess has numerous battle scars as a result of her taking part in some 421 battles in the Arcturan Death Spectacles. Because of extensive use of healing magics and potions, they now have little effect on her.
Martial Status:
Unmarried
Known Relatives:
Beia "Regaura" Targallae (sister), Irodee Skysteele De'Falcone (adopted daughter), Cassandra Kel'Ishtauri (clan-sister)
Group Affiliations:
Jhandris'Kul Myrmigyne tribe, Band of the Crescent Moon, Kingdom of Ivaneth, The Protectorate
Magical Skills:
Ess being trained as a Mataya (Lore-Knight) and a bard in Malan has dabbled in magic. She uses it mostly to entertain clan children and can do small 1st order spells. As a warrior of the Death Spectacles she has extensive combat experience in dealing with mages and is a truly fearsome opponent for any spellcaster.
Tournament Rank:
Ess is an unlimited class tournament competitor with extensive Death Spectacle experience that sets her apart from most of the competition. She rarely fails to make the final rounds of the unlimited class challenges and is highly regarded at the All-Worlds tourney for both weapons combat and archery.
Information:
Ess is Beia Targallae's younger sister taken from the Mirakul breeding creche three years after Beia was taken from their mother. Both women were raised in the arena and for the majority of their lives knew little else than the life and death struggle of gladitorial games.
Ess, like Beia, mastered many forms of armed and unarmed combat and trained in weapons like the spear, ring-she, bow, longsword, two-handed sword, dagger and axe. She is an acknowledged master of the Dan Sadad, Jac'Daw, and Caan Lajaar styles.
Unlike her sister, Ess has not undergone immortalizing and the years have begun to creep up on her. Brief stints as a member of Shael Dal, wielding various Shaladen blades have softened the effects on the Myrmigyne woman and she is physically closer to her 30s than her 50s.
Shortly after Ess and Beia joined the Jhandris Myrmigynes at the behest of Damrosil Terranath, Ess adopted Irodee Skysteele a tall, gawky youngster, shunned by much of the clan children. Ess made the young girl her "project" and
poured her efforts into "civilizing" both herself and her
new protege.
Ess is highly regarded both academically and martially and is welcome in many Kingdom's throughout Sharikaar where she often acts as a representitive of the way of Mataya.
